Congrats to Anna Lazewski for Winning Two Awards!

Congrats to Anna Lazewski! She qualified for the Pennsylvania Music Educator Association's All-State Wind Ensemble 2021. Anna recorded her part in the spring and the video was released last night. You can find her performance on YouTube under "2021 PMEA All-State". Anna was selected as a member of the 2021 All-National Concert Band!

    BASD Students Get Backstage Experience at Musikfest

    BETHLEHEM, Pa. - A group of students from the Bethlehem Area School District took a summer field trip to the area's largest outdoor festival. Lucky for them, Musikfest is in their backyard.

    "It's basically a way of the kids having a chance to see the music biz behind the scenes," said Jack Silva, assistant superintendent of BASD.

    Maddie Becomes a Finalist in Young Playwrights Festival

    Congrats to Maddie, a Spring Garden student! She is one of six finalists in the Young Playwrights Festival. Her play, "Petunia the Penguin" is about a young penguin's experience during the pandemic and will be performed at the festival on May 22nd!

    Blaire Becomes a Young Playwright Finalist

    Blaire, a student at Lincoln Elementary School, submitted her fabulous play to the Touchstone Theatre's contest this year. Her play, "Detective Dog and the Kids" will be featured at this year's Young Playwrights' Festival! Congrats to Blaire, one of the Young Playwrights' finalists!

    Matthew Vital Breaks Record at Philadelphia Junior Tour event

    Bethlehem’s Matthew Vital was one shot better Saturday afternoon at Reading Country Club than golf legend Sam Snead was in 1949.

    Vital shot a course-record, 8-under-par 62, to win the Philadelphia Junior Tour event by 14 shots. He posted nine birdies, eight pars and a lone bogey to break Snead’s mark by a stroke on the 6,162-yard layout.
