About The Bethlehem Area School District (BASD

BASD is the 6th largest school district in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, with an enrollment of over 13,500 students across 22 schools. The school district’s size makes it possible to offer and continually expand upon a range of opportunities for students. The bright, compassionate, and diverse students bring a wide range of opinions and life experiences to the classrooms – creating opportunities for connection across all walks of life and preparation for participating in a global economy.

From the first day of elementary school through high school graduation, the Bethlehem Area School District fosters rich intellectual, emotional, and artistic growth in our students as they are prepared for the future. The district’s forward-thinking approach to education draws on the best practices in the instruction of literacy, math skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving. The district values child-centered instruction, digital and hands-on learning, and opportunities for collaborative work. A quality education focuses on development of the whole person and BASD’s stretch learning, programs in the arts, and wide array of extracurricular activities help students grow into well-rounded adults.
